How Yoda taught me.

Ok so I watched Star Wars episode 5 recently,,I know, pretty late hah.

Straight to the point,

Luke Skywalker went to the Dagaban system to find the 900 years old Jedi Master, Yoda to learn the secrets of the force as he was the son of Anakin, 'the force runs strong in the family'. 

When he got there, the little Yoda pretended to be just a simple green being (as he is) living by the swamp and told that he will guide Luke with his R2 to the Jedi Master. 

Things got worse when it started raining adding the fact that their fighter-jet was half drowned in the swamp because of the crash. There on, Luke became grumpy, all-impatient, and started insisting Yoda to bring him right away to the Master Jedi and saying his stay in the creature's hiding is a waste of time.

[Yoda]         
Patience. For the Jedi, it is time to eat as well. Eat. Eat. 
Hot. Good food. Good.

[Luke ]           
How far away is Yoda? 
Will it take us long to get there?

[Yoda]           
Not far. Yoda not far. Patience. 
Soon you will be with him. Root leaf. I cook. 


Why wish you become Jedi?

         

[Luke]            
Mostly 'cause of my father, I guess.

[Yoda]           
Aaah, father…
Powerful Jedi was he.....Powerful Jedi.

[Luke]          
(Raises his voice) Oh, come on. 
How could you know my father? 


You don't even know who I am. 
I don't even know what I'm doing here. 


We're wasting our time!

[Yoda]                          
(Suddenly talking alone in frustration)
I cannot teach him.
The boy has no patience.

           

[Obi-Wan’s shadow]        
He will learn patience. (Trying to coax Master Yoda)

           

[Yoda]                                        
Much anger in him ...like his father.

[Obi-Wan’s shadow]                   
Was I any different when you taught me?

[Yoda ]          
He is not ready.

           

[Luke ]           
(Realising that the little creature is Yoda himself) I am ready. I can be a Jedi.
Ben, tell him I'm —

[Yoda]            
(Raising his voice) Ready, are you?
What know you ready?For 800 years have I trained Jedi. My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained. A Jedi must have the deepest commitment ...the most serious mind.

This one,,, a long time have I watched.
All his life has he looked away ..to the future, to the horizon.


Never his mind on where he was ...on what he was doing.


Adventure.
Excitement.


A Jedi craves not these things......You are reckless.

So how Master Yoda taught me? Well all this time I made my mind up about finishing my studies earlier a bit and maybe go travelling before settling down in Malaysia. But then when I heard these words, I doubted the decision right away.

Yeah, why must I look far beyond? Why not savour the moment and live it up to the fullest? I now wish to live my life as it is and focus on what's in front of me. 

Besides, I'm only 20. Not quite the time yet to think deeply of love and stuffs, marriage, job, being family-man and all. The time will come when the time comes.

Well, everything's just a plan. I don't now what's going to come just yet.. hoping God will guide me and give me strength to follow what is good and be fixed unto the path of righteousness.
